POURING OF THE CONCRETE FOR THE FOOTINGS

Insitu concrete was pumped into the Eco-block formwork.  Eco-block is an insulated concrete form (ECF) made from expanded polystyrene (EPS).  The black bars are polypropylene connectors that attach to embedded webs. Concrete was pumped into place,  gently vibrated and the top surface was then trowelled off.

Hi, thanks for documenting this great project. Just wondering if and how you're insulating under your footings with your ecoBlocks?

Wow, this was actually really cool to read about! I liked that you added so many pictures, great for visual people like me! I have have never really known how they pour concrete, but now I know! It's cool that they vibrate it, so that it's smooth on top, and doesn't have any air bubbles.

Thanks for taking the time to discuss this, I feel strongly about it and love learning more on this topic. If possible, as you gain expertise, would you mind updating your blog with extra information? It is extremely helpful for me. Nanaimo Drainage
